A Mill End school has raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Shepherd Primary School, Shepherds Lane, held a non-uniform day and a cake sale and the cash will be donated to OXFAM for Nepal.
The school pupils raised £525 on the day and IT firm Cisco offered to double the money raised by the school, taking the grand total to £1050.
Nepal was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday, April 25, killing more than 8,000 people.
Yesterday, thousands of schools across Nepal began to re-open after April’s earthquake.
The year six pupils from Shepherd Primary School decided to raise money to help Nepal after learning about earthquakes in geography.
Caitlin, a Year 6 pupil, said, “I felt sorry for the people of Nepal so I want to raise money to help them.”
