Sunday marks the 40th anniversary of an episode of Dr Who being filmed at the Grims Dyke Hotel, Old Redding, and to commemorate Daleks will be paying a surprise visit.

Fans of the timeless scifi series will take the Daleks to the hotel to re-enact scenes from the original show between 10am and 3pm.

Some of the original scenes have been last during the past four decades so new footage will be filmed both inside the hotel and in its grounds.

What do you think of David Tennant as the Doctor; is he a Time Lord or a waste of time? Do you remember the original episode being filmed? What other films or TV episodes do you remember being shot in this area?

I remember an episode of Z-Cars being filmed near the shops in Little Oxhey Lane in the mid 60s. It showed two cops in a patrol car and one said to the other that the devil must have created that part of the planet. Charming I thought.

Stick to milking cows Mary as if an actor as cool as David T would visit you or your mouldy house.

I think David is an amazing actor and great as the doctor, he has become an icon for many children and well he is easy on the eyes!

Tennant for Scottish Prime minister!

David Tennant is utterly fantastic and an exquisite actor. He's the reason I started to watch the new Doctor Who and the reason I keep watching; not just for his looks but he's absolutely brilliant in the role. He pulled me in and got me hooked with the way he handles the character of The Doctor. I hope he stays on for many more seasons.
