An Oxhey primary school is having an open day to show its new irrigation system for the garden.

A 1,500-litre tank is in place in the Bromet Primary School garden, with pipework taking water to the beds - which is controlled by an automatic regulator that lets gravity-fed water seep into the beds as necessary.

The school and Get Set Grow will open the watering system on Thursday, July 9, at 2.45pm.

All parents of pupils at Bromet Primary School are invited, and all children, for the annual open garden. Children who attend are allowed to finish school early. Watermelon refreshments will be offered.
