More than 400 entrants stepped up for the first ever Watford Colour Run in Aldenham Park to raise £10,000 for Peace Hospice Care.

Dashing around the 5km trail in dazzling sunglasses, the runners were gently showered in a variety of shades turning the park into a kaleidoscope of colour.

Among the entrants were "Team Starlight", comprising runners from the rehab team at the Starlight Centre at Peace Hospice Care.

Team members included a Peace Hospice Care physiotherapist, occupational therapist, Starlight co-ordinator, a volunteer and their children. They were cheered on by friends, family members and supportive patients.

Peace Hospice Care Events & Fundraising Manager Pete Watson was delighted by the response to the event.

He said: "We had a great turn out of support and raised £10K for the Hospice. Entrants really seemed to have a good time, and the feel good factor is at the core of all our events. "Our Starlight Walk on July 11 is the next big fundraiser for the hospice and we are urging women to take part, step out, enjoy themselves and help raise the 4.2 million pounds we need every year to continue our services."
