Around 30 people completed a sponsored walk to help raise funds for the Seventh-day Adventist church in Garston.
Members of the church, their family, friends and dogs completed one of two courses around Stanborough Park on Sunday to raise funds for the £2 million redevelopment project underway in the church.
The walk was officially started by personal trainer Terry Webb, of New Level Fitness, who provided advice to the participants before blowing the whistle.
Those undertaking the walk were treated with free refreshments upon retiring and were joined by onlookers who came to encourage them.
The walkers were joined by senior church pastor, Jacques Venter, and his two young daughters who completed nine laps of the short course and anticipated raising £200 between them.
Organiser Ros Guenin said: "Terry Webb really did a great job in setting the course out and persuading walkers to do their personal best. We are hoping now to raise £1,000 to £1,200."
"It was a wonderful day of beautiful weather, fun, friendship and the most delicious afternoon tea ever, so we need to walk again."
