Watford Mencap is marking Learning Disability Week by asking supporters to get involved in its Hear My Voice campaign by sharing their favourite song on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #WMHearMyVoice and texting a donation to the charity.
Helen Stevens, community fundraiser, said: "The issues affecting people with a learning disability and their families often go unheard in their local community.
"By sharing your favourite song you can make that voice heard and we want everyone to join in with us.
"Once you’ve shared your favourite song you can text LDWM15 £3 to 70070 to donate £3 to Watford Mencap during Learning Disability Week. We’ll be announcing the winning song at the end of July."
Learning Disability Week will be marked by a number of events including the inaugural outing of Watford Mencap’s Migloo.
The Migloo is a portable changing facility for people with a physical disability who are often prevented from enjoying public events because of the lack of suitable changing facilities.
The Migloo was funded by the Gannett Foundation and will be present at the Croxley Revels. To find out more about the many activities Watford Mencap has planned for Learning Disability Week, visit: www.watfordmencap.org.uk/get_involved/learning_disability_week2015.
