Watford Residents are being asked to take part in a 10k walk in aid of a charity that supports people suffering from a terminal illness.

Marie Curie is encouraging people in Hertfordshire to get together with friends and family and walk 10k around Blenheim Palace on Saturday, August 8.

The walk sets off at 6.30pm with festival-like celebrations afterwards, including live music, entertainment and a fire juggling performance.

Registration is £10 per person and children under 16 go free. On the night adult registration is £20.

There is a minimum fundraising ask of £100, which pays for five hours of care from Marie Curie.

All funds raised will help Marie Curie provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones in their own homes.

Lucy Watson, community fundraiser for Hertfordshire at Marie Curie, said: "Walk to Remember is a great opportunity to get together with friends and family, and think of loved ones that have passed away, whilst taking in some of the country’s beautiful scenery. Blenheim Palace is only an hour’s drive and is certainly worth the visit.

"By signing up for Walk to Remember in Blenheim Palace and reaching the fundraising target, you’ll be helping Marie Curie provide expert care, guidance and support to help people living with a terminal illness get the most from their time."
