Shards of life collide in a powerful story of punishment and rescue – and free HobNobs.

Quiet Violence is the debut spoken word theatre show from Sophie Rose and it’s fast, physical and full of anarchic poetry.

Sophie knows Stanley eats a dangerous amount of cheese. Stanley knows Craig isn’t good for Sophie. Sophie knows Craig isn’t good for Sophie.

Squeezed between tight jeans, jenga block flats and clip-on earrings, a young woman is making bad decisions and an old man is eating too much cheese. They’re sharing biscuits on an inflatable sofa; something has to pop.

Originally from Hitchin and now based in London, Sophie devises and performs her own material, working independently and as part of experimental performance duo Shatter Resistant. As a soloist, Sophie makes work which straddles theatre, spoken word and comedy. Fusing characters with poetry, movement with narrative, and euphoria with disappointment, she is becoming known for her uniquely textured, honest and playful storytelling.
