Pupils from a Bushey school have graduated with flying colours after taking part in nationwide extra-curricular activities programme.

Children at Little Reddings School have been part of the Children’s University, a programme which encourages children from all different backgrounds, between the ages of seven to 14, to take part in exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside normal school hours.

After earning stamps for their Children’s University passports for the number of hours they took part in afterschool clubs for, the pupils graduated at a special ceremony in Watford Colosseum, last Thursday afternoon.

Around 200 parents attended the ceremony to watch 120 of the school’s 7 to 11-year-old pupils graduate.

Sebastian Gray, Year 3 teacher and the Children’s University leader, said: "We had over 30 clubs on offer – we had the standard ones such as football and badminton and then we had the more unusual ones such as fencing, judo and movie making.

"The children have worked incredibly hard this year and have enjoyed doing a vast range of activities.

"It’s been amazing to see so many children take part in the programme’s first year, and we’re looking forward to more children graduating next year."
