This year marks a hug milestone for a dog training society in Kings Langley as they celebrate their 60th anniversary.
Non-profit organisation, The Gade Dog Training Society, based in Kings Langley Community Centre in The Nap, was set up on July 5 1955, and will be marking the occasion with a quiz evening and buffet for members, and a ‘What every responsible dog owner need to know’, dog law seminar, in September.
The society’s classes take place on Tuesday evenings and start at 7.30pm.
Zoe Lythaby, chairman of the society and one of the trainers, said: "During our 60 years the club has helped hundreds of owners to train their dogs.
"We are very proud to be celebrating our 60th anniversary this year.
"In regards to the seminar, the government has made a number of changes to dog law in recent months and we would like to raise awareness to all local dog owners.
"Every dog owner should be aware of the law regarding dog ownership and your responsibilities."
Their dog law seminar, which will be presented by Trevor Cooper of Cooper & Co Solicitors, will take place on Saturday, September 19 at the Kings Langley Community Centre, starting at 2pm, lasting about three hours.
