Essential maintenance is being carried out on the pond in Watford town centre.
The bridge was closed from Monday while the work on the pumps and fountains continues.
The workmen have had to lift up planks from the bridge to access the pumps.
Watford Borough Council said the walkway will be shut off until the work is completed on Thursday.
