People will be able to find out about the benefits of living in supported housing in Dacorum over the next few months.

Dacorum Borough Council will be holding a number of open days, running from 11am-2pm, at the supported housing schemes across Dacorum, including at Willows Edge in Kings Langley on Thursday, August 20.

Supported housing is specifically for people aged 60 and over who live in the borough. People can keep their independence, in a self-contained flat or bungalow for one or two people, with support available if and when they need it.

The council manage 31 supported housing schemes at locations across the borough.

Last year, the our Supported Housing Service was the first provider in England and Wales to be presented with the three star accreditation for Service Excellence Standards from the Centre for Housing Support (CHS).

Cllr Margaret Griffiths, Portfolio Holder for Housing says: "We are really proud of our supported housing service, it allows our tenants to live an independent life with the assurance that support is available when they need it.

“Whether you are interested in supported housing for now, or considering it for your future, I'd encourage you to join us at our open days to find out more about why it could be a good option for you."
