The county council’s performance has been published in their annual report.
A summary of what Hertfordshire County Council has achieved during the year can be viewed, as well as review on its 2014 to 2015 expenditure.
Chris Hayward, responsible for resources and performance, said: “We are facing huge pressures on our budget due to a significant rise in the county’s population, particularly an increase in the number of older people and children.
“We have managed over the last five years by changing the way we work and finding innovative ways of becoming more efficient.
“This has led to £172million of savings from our annual budget with relatively little impact on the services we provide.”
