Police are appealing to trace a key witness after a woman in her 80s suffered a fractured arm when she was knocked to the ground by a dog in Cassiobury Park.

Shortly after 1pm on Sunday, August 24, last year, the woman was walking near the cafe in Cassiobury Park when a dog, which was on a lead, approached and jumped up at her, knocking her to the ground.

The woman suffered a fracture to her right arm.

A man is reported to have helped pull the dog off the woman while she was on the floor.

PC Nicola Simons said: “The victim has understandably been left very distressed by the incident and we are keen for this witness to come forward as soon as possible, as he may have vital information which could assist with the investigation.

“While I appreciate that this happened some time ago, there were a number of people in the area at the time and I would also ask anyone else with information about what happened to come forward.”

Anyone with information can contact PC Simons via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C1/15/2133.
