A man was attacked by a dog and robbed of his cash and Oyster card in a Watford park.

The robbery occurred between 1pm and 3.30pm on Monday, August 17, in Garston Park, behind Garston Park Parade and Codicote Drive.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking in the park when he was approached by two men who were with a dog, described as an American Bulldog.

The dog bit the victim, who tried to run away but was then struck to the head.

One of the robbers bit the victim’s finger before they stole cash and an Oyster card from him.

The victim sustained cuts to his head and finger and abrasions to his face and arms.

The first robber is described as white, of stocky build and around 6ft tall. He had short ginger or blond hair and was dressed in dark clothing.

The second is described as white, of skinny build and 6ft tall. He had short dark hair and was also dressed in dark clothing.

Detective Constable Jennifer Stoddart said: “The offenders were stopped by a woman on a bicycle who happened to come across the incident. We would like to speak with this woman as soon as possible as she may have information that could assist our investigation.

“Additionally, we would like to hear from anyone who believes they know the identity of the two males, saw what happened or has any other information about the incident.”
