The air ambulance is calling on people to Go Red for National Air Ambulance Week in September.

The bright red Hers Air Ambulance has been flying and saving lives across the county since 2008.

Now the charity want residents to host red-themed dinner parties or wear red for the day, to celebrate and help raise awareness and funds to keep the life-saving service running.

National Air Ambulance week is between September 21 to 27.

Maria Alexander, Herts Air Ambulance fundraising manager, said: "We always have loads of fun with Go Red and it’s great to see how people of all ages from across Hertfordshire get behind for this national awareness week.

"Every red-inspired idea is welcome as all donations make a difference. So please register today and help keep Herts Air Ambulance flying."

Last year Go Red raised more than £6,870 and this year the charity are hoping to raise even more.

Everyone who registers for Go Red will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win an overnight stay at theHanbury Manor in Ware, Hertfordshire.
