A Kings Langley artist and producer looking to promote independent music in the area launched the video for his debut record at an event last week.

Around 40 people crammed in to The LP Café in Watford On Tuesday, August 18 as the venue played host to the premier of Charles Dixon’s most recent music video.

The video, which was filmed last month in Kings Langley, for the single Milky Wave from his album Cloud Walking Vol 1.

A dwarf, a female bodybuilder and a fire breather were amongst the unconventional characters to appear in the film.

Like many artists, Charles found his passion for music at a young age, but he, Tom Jordan, Ryan Robinson, Jake Brett and ‘Anhearo’, who help support Mr Dixon’s career, take pride in every aspect of his music being completely independent.

As well as building his own professional studio, Mr Dixon independently advertises, funds and produces his own work.

Tom Jordan said it was important for the launch to be held at the coffee and record shop.

He said: "The LP Café is hospitable for creative people and also independently run. Paul at the café was more than happy to get involved and support our endeavours."

"DJs collectives Tobago Tracks and Heath Audio also from Watford, kindly got involved with the event, the former playing Dimensions festival in Croatia this weekend."

"There were lots of people there. It was encouraging to see such a great turn out and to see faces we didn’t expect to come along."

As well as showing a preview of the new music video, Mr Dixon played behind the scenes footage and stressed again the importance of his vision for independent music and opportunities for independent artists in the Watford area.

Mr Jordan added: "The important thing about the event was that it was entirely a product of Watford and completely independent and it was enormously encouraging to get so many people down who believe in the projects and what’s going on."

Mr Dixon said: "This is just the beginning of many more ventures. There’s more music on its way - there’s no shortage of content."

Cloud Walking Vol. 1 is out 27th August, available on Soundcloud or can be purchased on itunes.
