Images of stolen bicycles have been released in an attempt to locate them and find the person responsible for the theft.

Between 2am and 3.30am on Wednesday, August 26, the offenders gained access to the rear of Cycleopedia, which is in Merton Road, and stole four bicycles. It is believed the offender left the store via the rear after one of the bicycles was recovered near the store’s car park.

The bicycles stolen were a black Turner Salton, which has orange handlebars and orange stickers on the wheels, a green, medium Specialized 2016 Stumpjumper Elite and a green, medium Specialized 2016 Stumpjumper Comp.

The fourth bicycle, which has been recovered, is a black and red Cube Aerium racer.

Detective Constable Solomon Beere said: “The bicycles stolen are distinctive and I would ask anyone who is offered them for sale, or knows of their whereabouts, to contact me straight away.

“It’s believed the offender left passing the mosque and into Victoria Passage and so I would also like to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious near the shop between the stated times.”

Anyone with information in relation to this incident should contact DC Beere via 101, quoting crime reference C1/15/3999.
