Preparations are in place for Watford's Big Sports Day.

The event in The Parade on Saturday, September 19, will include BMX, cricket, golf, tennis, athletics, parkour free-running, a climbing wall and exercise classes at Watford Central Leisure Centre, Watford Woodside Leisure Centre, NRG and Fitness4Less in the town from 11am to 5pm.

Coaches from Watford FC and its community trust will be based near the Rickmansworth Road subway on The Parade.

Mascot Harry the Hornet will invite everyone that passes by to take part in some footy fun.

Next to it, inflatables will be set out for people to learn some tackling and throwing skills to get into the spirit of the Rugby World Cup.

The Big Sports Day is being staged for the second year in a row as part of the council’s Big Events series of cultural and sporting activities.
