Funeral-goers can now enjoy the comfort of a new tearoom at West Herts Crematorium.
The new Bluebells Tearoom has opened after funding was made available from a committee of five councils - Watford Borough Council, Three Rivers District Council, Dacorum Borough Council, St Albans District Council and Hertsmere Borough Council.
Opening hours will be from 9am to 4pm between Monday and Friday and for special occasions like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
Jane Thomas, manager at the crematorium, said: “The tearoom that we had before was just vending machines and was not very welcoming for the bereaved.
“A person serving food and drink with a friendly face on a sad day when people are visiting a memorial or coming to a funeral makes them feel better.
“This refurbishment is a great improvement to the service that we provide here.”
