A renovation of Watford Heath will begin this week.

New footpaths will be framed with restored historical railings as part of the planned work, while the war memorial is set to be given a new setting and unnecessary signs and clutter removed.

Timber tree seats will be installed, alongside new lighting and cycle stands. Crocuses and daffodils are also set be planted for colour in the spring.

Councillor Iain Sharpe, cabinet member for regeneration and development, said: "Watford Heath is much like a village green; and extremely popular with local residents.

"It was identified in our green spaces strategy as one of our highest quality community parks, and so I am pleased that this thoughtful restoration is going ahead."
