The revised opening hours for libraries in Three Rivers have been unveiled after council chiefs axed £2.5 million from the libraries budget.

As part of the cuts to the library budget, each library in Hertfordshire was placed in a tier.

The revised opening hours for tier 1 and tier 2 libraries have emerged and some of the tier 2 libraries will be closing earlier on Saturdays.

Libraries classified as tier 2 in Three Rivers are: Rickmansworth, Croxley Green, Oxhey and Abbots Langley.

Croxley Green library and Oxhey library will be closing at 1pm on Saturdays. They used to close at 4pm.

Rickmansworth Library, will be closing an hour earlier on weekdays – shutting the doors to the public at 6pm. However, it will be opening an hour earlier on Friday.

The library in Rickmansworth town centre will also open half an hour later. It will remain closed on Wednesday.

In Oxhey, the library will also open half an hour later but will close at 1pm on a Saturday.

Croxley Green library will open half an hour later on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will close at 1pm on Saturday.

Abbots Langley library is the only Tier 2 library in Three Rivers which will be open for longer, with the library opening an hour earlier on Thursday.
