Watford safety experts Arco are joining the fight against cardiovascular disease this World Heart Day by donating £3,000 to The Resuscitation Council.

Arco is also reaching out to Watford businesses to consider the installation of defibrillators.

Those deemed most at risk include businesses based in remote locations who are likely to be subject to longer response times by the emergency services, urban or multi-storey locations which could be difficult for emergency responders to reach and industrial campuses or businesses with spread out facilities.

Earlier this year, Chancellor George Osbourne promised to fund £1 million to buy defibrillators for schools and public spaces but there is currently no legislation in place in the UK or Ireland that obliges certain businesses or premises to provide an Automated External Defibrillator.

During this week, the company will also be offering of range of Lifeline defibrillators with a 25 per cent discount.
