The 600th anniversary of the battle of Agincourt will be celebrated with a concert at a Bovingdon church next weekend.

St Lawrence Church in Church Lane is holding the event on Saturday, October 17 at 7.30pm and Amici Voices, a quarter of young professional singers, will perform a selection of English, Flemish and French music of the period.

They will be accompanied by Terence Charlston on the organ, professor of harpsichord at the Royal College of Music in London.

The concert will also include dramatic and historical reading by members of the Bovingdon Players.

The vicar, Reverend Charles Burch, said: “The original Bovingdon church dates from before the battle of Agincourt and the group will be singing next to the effigy of a knight dressed in chain mail from the same period, which will add further authenticity to their performance.”

Tickets cost £12, £5 for under 18s, and can be purchased from the church or from Lily Rose Florists in High Street, Bovingdon.
