The Kings Langley Carnival committee has donated more than £5,000 to charities and organisations which helped out at the event this summer.
Cheques totalling £5,100 were presented by the Mayor of Dacorum, Gbola Adeleke to 18 organisations during a presentation evening at Kings Langley Cricket Club.
The recipients included Transition in Kings, Evergreen Football Club, the Good Neighbours Association, Waterside Centre, Kings Langley Puffaten, Sunnyside Rural Trust, Life Opportunities trust, Kings Langley Charities, the Hospice of St Francis and Herts Air Ambulance.
Carnival chairman Carol Chandler said: "We are delighted to be able to donate more than £5,000 from this year’s carnival to so many local organisations who so such excellent work for the community.
"The plans for next year’s carnival are already underway, organised by a committee of local residents, and they would welcome all offers of help or suggestions, either to join the committee or on an ad-hoc basis - just email kingslangleycarnival@hotmail.com."
