Members said a big thank you and goodbye to Sergeant Noel Buckley at a Community Safety Partnership (CSP) meeting in Radlett last night.
Sergeant Buckley, who joined the Bushey and Radlett Safer Neighbourhood team three years ago, is leaving to join to the Potters Bar team.
In the three years, he has since tackled burglaries, anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in the area.
He said: "It has been a great three years and thank you all for being nice to me."
Leslie Winters, chairman of the CSP, said: "I remember one of the first things that you (Sgt Buckley) said to us all and that was - 'if someone is bothering you, it bothers me and I'll bother them' - and it's been very true.
"Thank you very much for everything that you have done for us."
Sergeant Jenny Pulley will be taking over the role of managing five neighbourhood officers and seven police community support officers (PCSOs).
