Pupils from an infant school enjoyed a trip to a building site where they learned about engines, machinery and materials.

Parent Governors, Dan Hall and Roy Bean, arranged the visit for children at Bushey and Oxhey Infant School, after seeing them stopping at the site every evening and marvelling at the changes taking place.

Property developers, Careys Group, are developing a site in Vale Road, Oxhey - the same road as the school.

Over two days, 120 pupils from the school visited the site wearing high visibility jackets and builders hard hats - specially ordered for them - and learnt first hand about building materials, vehicles, engines and machinery.

They even learnt about potential hazards and risks as well as the different job roles.

The developers also put together gift bags for the all the children who visited the site.
