Watford Labour Party has selected three town campaigners to fight the key swing seats in Central ward in May's all-out Council elections.
Cllr Mike Haley will be fighting to retain his seat, having been elected to represent the ward this year.
He has has raised issues, including a lack of affordable housing and anti-social behaviour in Town Hall.
Sara Jane Trebar, known for leading the campaign to save Farm Terrace allotments, is also standing in the ward alongside Labour's third candidate is Hertfordshire University lecturer Sarah Flynn.
Ms Flynn said she felt motivated to stand by her feeling that while millions has been spent on the High Street and Parade, the needs of people who live, or run independent businesses, in and around the town centre are often neglected.
