A school has been awarded Healthy School Status after looking at all aspects of its pupils' lifestyles.

St John’s Church of England Infant and Nursery School, Radlett, has been looking at improving and teaching its pupils about healthy living.

Staff at the school have been teaching children about the importance of food and exercise.

Head teacher Alice Aharon said: “I have been at the school for about 18 months now and it is something that I wanted to bring quite quickly to the school as I feel quite passionate about it. Children make decisions at these ages that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and we want to encourage a healthy lifestyle."

“I want the children and their parents to be aware of a healthy lifestyle and we want them to understand and have the knowledge to make healthier choices. The school was also given a National Lottery Grant to have new Early Years equipment fitted, and has introduced clubs and exercise classes including football, netball and ballet.
