A man was knocked unconscious and robbed while walking in Abbots Langley on his phone.

The incident happened at around 1pm on Sunday, December 13.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking along Langley Road, in the direction of Gallows Hill Lane, while talking on his phone.

Near the Kindersley Way junction, the man was approached by three men walking in the opposite direction.

They beckoned him over but the man, fearing for his safety, ran away towards Hazelwood Road.

He tripped over at which point the men came over and assaulted him, causing the victim to momentarily lose consciousness.

Cash was then stolen from the victim.

Two of the offenders were black and one was white.

One of the black men is described as being aged in his early 30s, of medium build and around 5ft 11ins tall.

He had short black, curly hair and was clean shaven, wearing a three-quarter length black jacket.

The other black man is described as being in his late 20s, with short black curly hair, clean shaven and was wearing a short black sports jacket.

The white man is said to be around 5ft 11ins tall with short brown hair. He was wearing a navy blue tracksuit top with black lines on the sleeves and black trousers.

Detective Sergeant Andy Wiseman said: “Thankfully the victim was not seriously injured during this incident but has, understandably, been left shaken by what happened.

“The robbery occurred during the middle of the day on a road that is fairly well travelled. I would ask anyone who saw any part of the incident, or the group of men before or afterwards, to come forward and speak with me.

“Even the smallest bit of information could grateful assist out investigation.”
