A school in Radlett has been celebrating the festive season with a pantomime performed by its Year 3 and 4 pupils.

Edge Grove School, Radlett, performed A Night with Roald Dahl on December 15.

The show was given a modern twist with the children’s own versions of short stories including Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

Headteacher Ben Evans said: “The performing arts play a vital role in the curriculum of our school and it is important to us that everyone is given a regular opportunity to perform on stage and under the lights, in front of their family and friends.

“I’m constantly amazed by the talent and enthusiasm of our pupils and the way in which they act, sing and dance with enjoyment, confidence and panache.

“As with any production, it’s a team effort combining the skills and hard work of the children, staff and teachers, so I thank them all for what was a truly memorable pantomime and has left us all feeling the festive spirit.”

A total of 113 children took part in the production and over the course of the last term, the pupils learnt their lines and practiced their dance moves.

The performance was directed by Miss Neale, the head of drama at Edge Grove School, and all the lower schoolchildren were involved in designing the performance.
