More bus routes are feared to be under threat after the county council propose axing the £390,000 it currently pays to Transport for London to support services in and out of Watford.
Routes 142 - Watford Junction to Brent Cross - and 258 - Watford Junction to South Harrow - could stop if Hertfordshire County Council's budget proposals for 2016 are passed.
Nigel Bell, county councillor and leader of the Labour Group in Watford, said: "Both these well used routes provide an invaluable service to central Watford residents, in particular, and others across the town making it more difficult for residents to get to their work, visit their families, and for pupils to reach Bushey Academy and Bushey Meads School.
"This disastrous cut would also create more congestion in and around Watford when we are supposed to be encouraging residents to use public transport."
