A mother and her four-year-old child suffered slight injuries after being hit by a car last night.
Ascot Road was closed for more than two hours after an accident near the roundabout with Whippendell Road.
Two ambulances arrived at the scene and the two people, who were both pedestrians, were taken to Watford General Hospital.
Witnesses driving past the scene described seeing a car with a smashed windscreen.
People leaving Watford Business Park and Croxley Green Business Park faced long delays trying to get out of the business park.
Police reopened the road at 7.21pm after accident investigators left the scene.
