A school in Bushey is trying new ways to inspire their children to progress with and enjoy their writing.

Over the past year Little Reddings Primary School, in Bushey, has been surprising pupils with a range of writing days with various different themes.

On Wednesday February 3, children arrived at the school to find their teachers dressed in different costumes and uniforms with the theme "what I want to be when I grow up".

Pupils took part in activities including writing stories about professions to writing CVs and mock interviews.

English leader Sebastian Grey said: “There was a great atmosphere around school with children aspiring to find out about different professions from origami teachers to architects.

“The standard of the writing has been high across the school and the children have thoroughly enjoyed the day.”

Head teacher Carly Simmonds said: “It was a pleasure to walk around the school to see such outstanding writing and enthusiasm from both the children and the staff.

“Feedback from parents about our writing days is always very positive and it was the same again this year.”
