A man who died after a car hit a roundabout and smashed into a wall in Harrow has been named as 30-year-old Patrick Rooney of Maple Cross.

Mr Rooney was a passenger in the blue Mercedes C180 which crashed in Harrow View at around 8.45pm on Monday, February 15.

The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service attended.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, and another passenger, a 13-year-old boy, were taken to a central London hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Mr Rooney was pronounced dead later that night at 10.50pm. His next of kin have been informed.

A post mortem examination took place on Wednesday, February 17, and collision investigators await the result.

An inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the collision.

Officers would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Mercedes in the moments leading up to the collision.
