A football fan was attacked on his way to a football match in Watford at the weekend.
The 33-year-old Bournemouth supporter was walking along Merton Road at 2.50pm on Saturday when he was punched by a man in a Burberry-type scarf.
He was on his way to see the Hornets take on the Cherries.
He suffered a cut to his chin, which required stitches.
The offender is described as a white man, aged between 20 and 30, of slim build and between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in tall with auburn coloured hair.
He was wearing a dark blue coat and light blue jeans.
Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact Sgt Simon Mason via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C1/16/951.
