The theft of a portable toilet in Moor Park is being linked to eight others in the St Albans area.

The toilet was stolen from a yard near Eastbury Farm Tennis Courts in Batchworth Lane last weekend.

But detectives have revealed it is being linked to eight other thefts in the St Albans and Harpenden areas and these were all stolen in a six day spree.

The thefts have been recorded in Harefield Place, St Albans, between 4.30pm and 6.15pm on May 17, Sandpit Lane, St Albans, between 8am on May 14 and 8am on May 16, Woodstock Road South, St Albans, between 5.30pm and 5.40pm on May 14 and Batchwood Drive, St Albans, between noon on May 13 and 6am on May 16.

Three portable toilets have also been stolen in Harpenden, in Browning Road, between 5pm on Friday, May 13 and 7am on Monday, May 16, in Cowper Road, between 7pm on May 11 and 7.15am on May 12 and in Elliswick Road between 10.35pm and 10.40pm on May 11.

Detectives believe they were all loaded into a white van.

Detective Inspector Pete Frost said: β€œIt has been reported that the toilets were loaded into a white van during some of these incidents.

"I would ask that anyone who remembers seeing a suspicious van in any of these locations around the times stated gets in touch.

β€œI would also like to hear from anyone with any other information about the thefts.”
