A man from Garston has been charged in connection with a telephone scam in which an elderly woman was conned out of £72,000.

Eddy Lee Ellis, 51, of Bovingdon Close, is one of four men to be charged in connection with the scam.

Lincolnshire Police said the victim is from Wainfleet, Skegness.

Nazmul Chowdury, 36, of Maple Road West, Luton, Neil Percival, 52, of Imperial Way, Hemel Hempstead and Mohammed Hoque, 59, of Shaftesbury Road, Luton, were all also charged in connection with the scam.

All four have been bailed and will appear before Skegness Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 21.
