More than 1,000 were turned all colours of the rainbow to raise money for a hospice.
The second annual Peace Hospice Care Colour Run, held at Aldenham County Park on Sunday, saw scores of people run 5K while volunteers dumped cups of coloured powder on them.
The result was a colourful spectacle and ended with all the participants throwing paint up into the air.
More than £20,000 has already been raised.
Pete Watson, events and community fundraising manager at the hospice, said: “We’re thrilled that so many people came to show their support for us.
"The day went even better than we could have imagined. We’d like to say a big thank you to the runners, staff, volunteers and everyone else involved.”
All the money raised through the event will be donated to the hospice, which supports and cares for people suffering from life-limiting illnesses and their families.
