Staff at an animal rescue centre are asking for people to adopt some of the animals after three kittens were dumped at the centre.

A man pulled up in a van at the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) in Watford last weekend and explained that three kittens were ‘hanging around’ on the yard.

He told the staff the kittens would be hit by a car if they were to stay there. He handed the staff the kittens and left without entering the centre.

Jackie De Friez, centre manager, said: “The man said if we were not going to take them he would chuck them in the road.

“When the man handed the staff the kittens they purred when they were cuddled.

“These are such adorable kittens now looking for a new start in life.

“At this time of year, we are overwhelmed with homeless animals looking for their forever home.”

The three kittens are currently at the NAWT along with other animals from dogs to rabbits and guinea pigs.

If anyone is thinking of adopting any animal please visit NAWT.
