Three men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms after police search a home in Watford.

Police were given a warrant to search the home in Rosslyn Road, Watford, at around 7pm on June 30.

A car was seen leaving the property. Police stopped the car and later began searching the home. During the search police recovered a pistol.

Detective Inspector Kerry Bull said: “Whilst we do not suffer high levels of violent crime in Watford, we will continue to act on information we receive about those who may be in possession of illegal firearms to prevent serious crime.

“The public play a vital role in helping to make Watford even safer and I would encourage anyone who has any information connected to such offences to please report it to police, or Crimestoppers anonymously.

“Whilst these warrants are not a routine occurrence when they are carried out, they are pre-planned and proportionate and residents should feel confident about carrying on their daily business.”

All the men are still in custody at this moment.

A man who witnessed the arrest has given his account of what happened here.
