More than 30 senior citizens came together to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Bushey North Pensioner Voice Club.
After discovering the club was 40 years old this year, the committee decided to hold a special free lunch for their members on Tuesday.
On Tuesday the Mayor and Mayoress of Hertsmere visited the club for their anniversary lunch at the Metropolitan Police Sports Ground in Bushey.
Thelma Adams, one of the committee members, said: “It was lovely. We all had a lovely time.”
According to Mrs Adams the club is still going strong and this year there has been an increase in their members.
Mrs Adams said: “Recently we have got more gentlemen joining the club this year.
“We must not forget about the older generation. Older men get lonely as well and that is why we have had a number men joining.
“We currently have around 39 members but anyone is welcome to join.”
Other guests included
