After a competitive first half, Bromley's settled side put Welling United's new look team to the sword in the second period.

Neil Smith's Bromley team showed the value of knowing each other and were ruthless against Welling's trialists

Buoyed by going ahead just before the break, four second half Bromley goals gave Wings' manager Mark Goldberg plenty to think about.

Early on, the hosts took the initiative. Danny Waldren had an early chance but it took a crucial block. Sam Hatton then curled a free kick over.

Hatton came close again with a shot across the face of goal before Bromley started to grow into the game.

Dave Martin shot cleanly but Chris Lewington was equal to his effort and claimed comfortably.

Impressive Blair Turgott then came close when his effort from the edge of the area was deflected onto the post and out.

Bobby Devyne created an opening for himself but screwed his effort wide of the near post.

Deep into injury time, Bromley went ahead. Although Bromley's first effort was beaten out Turgott made no mistake with a crisp finish from the edge of the area.

Having looked solid in the first half, Welling substituted both centre backs at the break and lost all their security.

Adam Cunnington rose to meet a Martin cross but headed wide.

Lewington then made an excellent save from George Porter after more good work by Martin.

Although Bromley netted again, it was disallowed for a foul on Jordan Brown by Cunnington.

In a rare second period attack, Welling came close to levelling. Sam Corne cut across the area before firing a shot that rattled the bar. Hatton followed up but fired well over.

Turgott drew another good save out of Lewington before turning provider allowing Cunnington to tuck home Bromley's second.

Substitutions for both sides followed before Bromley increased their lead. Martin's free kick was met by an almost unchallenged Jack Holland and he finished comfortably.

Further changes followed and one added Bromley's fourth. Bradley Goldberg, the son of Welling's manager, broke clear and finished with a shot inside the far post.

He came close to adding another with an effort that flew just wide then substitute Tobi Sho-Silva had a header saved by Lewington.

Harry Crawford's cross was met at the far post by Jonte Smith for Welling but he was unable to apply a clean finish and Bromley completed the scoring in injury time.

Although it appeared that Turgott had crashed into a Welling defender, there was little argument when the referee pointed to the spot and Turgott converted with ease.
