A man who died after he was found in the street with serious head injuries has been named locally as Bradley Cresswell.
The 22-year-old from South Oxhey was found in The Parade at around 3.44am on Sunday.
He was taken to Watford General Hospital where he later died.
A murder investigation is underway by detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit and three men have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Writing on Facebook, Katie Webster wrote: "So young to take from this cruel world I don't what to say but you will be missed by so many people.
"Night night."
Another Facebook tribute.
Bradley Hammond added: "You will be deeply missed. You were like a brother to me and you were a good mate to a lot of people.
"Taken way to soon."
Hertfordshire Constabulary said they would not be releasing any more details.
