An 19-year-old was thrown from a first floor balcony.
The man sustained head injuries and was taken to St Mary's Hospital by paramedics where he remains in a serious condition.
Police and forensics were called to St Albans Road in Watford at around 2am this morning.
The man was found to be lying in road at the junction with Victoria Street with a serious head injury.
The road was closed off to allow investigations to take place at the scene however the road has since been re-opened.
At around 4.30am three men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a vehicle was stopped in Bedfordshire. They remain in police custody at this time.
According to a witness it was the man's 19th birthday.
