Children with physical disabilities or developmental delays have won £25,000 in a national competition.

Playskill won the Community Award from OneFamily Foundation, which was set up to redistribute some of the profits of the OneFamily financial mutual to help members, families and communities.

Playskill runs specialist parent and child playgroups for pre-school children with disabilities, across Watford and Hemel Hempstead.

The grant will help the group’s day to day running as well as providing a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and speech and language therapist.

Andrea Clarke, director of Playskill, said: “The group provides a safe, fun and nurturing environment for our children to learn and socialise in. We are so pleased that, with the Community Award, we will be able to work with even more families, who need our support the most.”

Playskill was nominated for a Community Awards by John Lamb, a OneFamily customer. The charity was one of the 24 organisations presented with an award and in this latest round.
