And while the prospect of a one million pound revamp is exciting, we can't help but feel a little sad by the announced closure of our beloved sticky-floored palace.

Over the years it's seen its fair share of rent-a-celebs, including the reunited S Club 7, not to mention those unforgettable chart stars isuch as Javine.
