Leisure centre bosses have called in police after drill holes were found in changing cubicle walls.

Fears that a peeping Tom could have been spying on unsuspecting families at the Woodside Leisure Centre in Garston were raised by a concerned user.

Gemma Merry, the centre’s manager, told Hertfordshire Constabulary at 10am today following complaints.

Stuart Burlington, 44, deputy manager of Woodside Leisure Centre said: “We check the changing rooms morning, afternoon and evening. If we find holes we fill them immediately.

“Unfortunately this sort of thing is not uncommon in sports centres. We do our best to deal with the situation.

“We do have CCTV to the entrance of the changing rooms, just not inside for obvious reasons.”

The holes were in the centre of the partition and the size of a drill hole.

This is not the first time that the leisure centre has had these type of issues. In 2009 Martin Fitch was jailed for four years after admitting 14 charges of downloading the images and possession of 4,550 pictures.
