Here are the four worst GPs across Watford according to NHS Choice.

These services are rated by customers on five different categories including telephone access, appointments, dignity and respect, involvement in decisions and providing accurate information.

It is based on a five star rating on the NHS Choice website and these four have been rated as below three stars.

1) Gujral MK, in Upton Road, Watford, was given ONE STAR and is the overall worst rated GP in Watford

On the website an anonymous reviewer, who visited the practice in April 2014, said their solicitor sent several letters to provide their medical details.

However, after 18 months the GP practice sent the details after they logged a complaint.

Watford Observer:

The former practice manager Keeley Bauldry replied to their comment and asked them to contact the surgery directly so they can look into it.

Gujral MK has been approached for a comment.

2) Upton Road Surgery, in Upton Road, Watford, was given TWO STARS

People have described the surgery as having to wait forever to get an appointment and it is "unlikely you will get one within a week".

Watford Observer:

Others have said it is a waste of time and appalling.

Watford Observer:

However some people have said the surgery is "excellent" and staff are "very helpful".

Watford Observer:

Catherine Bourel, the practice manager, said: "On the basis of less than one comment on average per year, the ratings are hardly representative of the practice’s performance.

"It is also difficult to act on negative comments when these are made anonymously as we are unable to address any particular issue.

"Furthermore we feel that patients are more likely to give a negative comment if they are disgruntled.

"‘Patients don’t always get what they want’. ‘The doctor will have managed the situation correctly but the patient is not happy and may give a low rating’.

"Following a Care Quality Commission inspection of Upton Road Surgery in August 2016, the practice has been awarded Good in all domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led with regards to Older People, People with Long Term Conditions, Families, Children and Younger People, Working Age People and the Recently Retired, People in vulnerable circumstances, People experiencing Poor Mental Health.

"We consider the GP Patient Survey by NHS England to be the reliable survey as far are GP ratings are concerned as questionnaires are sent to a large number of patients registered with the practice.

"The published results for the past few years have always been very positive.  Each year Upton Road Surgery analyse the results and produces an action plan on how results can be improved even more.

"The action plan for this year was also approved by the Quality Care Commission."

3) With TWO AND HALF STARS is The Consulting Rooms in Oxhey Drive, Watford

One person who visiting the surgery in September 2015 said the levels of service was disappointing and the telephone service was poor.

Watford Observer:

Others have said the reception staff are rude and there is "no flow of information to the doctors" and others have advised to avoid if you are working full time.

Watford Observer:

Despite the number of negative reviews the surgery itself has had seven positive reviews saying they are "really pleased with the service" and it is easy to get appointments.

Practice manager of the surgery said: "These reviews were published in 2015. Since then we have had very positive reviews about the practice.

"We always welcome feedback and constructive feedback is also welcome.

"We want people who have any issues to get in touch with us and not vent on sites like this."

4) The Suthergrey House Medical Centre, in St Johns Road, Watford, was also rated TWO AND HALF STARS

For seven pages on the website, people have expressed their opinions of this surgery with people describing the waiting room as a "morgue".

Watford Observer:

Others have said there is a long wait for appointments and cannot get appointments at suitable times.

Watford Observer:

One patient, who has been using the service for nine years, wrote a review advising the surgery to open their windows as they have not been open once since he has been a patient.
