A three-day operation to target anti social behaviour took place in Watford last week.

Three people were arrested during the operation which took place between October 14 and 16.

Arrests were made for breach of bail and a public order offence, including two teenagers and a 20-year-old man.

Extra police patrols were deployed throughout the town centre to provide reassurances to the public and also to disturb any potential offenders.

During the three days, a total of 77 people were searched. Police recorded three drug offences and six Section 35 dispersal orders were issued. Police found no weapons on any of the persons searched.

Neighbourhood Inspector Nick Lillitou from the Watford Central policing team said: “Over the past six months, we have unfortunately seen issues with anti-social behaviour within the town centre.”

“This operation was a great success and allowed us to engage with people out on the streets and identify any potential issues before they arose, which we will not tolerate in Watford.”

If you have any concerns about anti-social behaviour, you can contact the Watford Safer Neighbourhood Team or call Hertfordshire Constabulary on 101.
